OKKUPATION is a two-stage art project about the urban public space and its transformation through social and economical processes.

 

Part 1 of the project took place in Berlin-Neuk&oum;lln in March 2004, where a selected group of visual artists were invited to a four-day symposium. In Part 2, twelve interventions in various public spaces in the Neukölln area will be realised over two periods (Autumn 2005 and Summer 2006). The artists developed their ideas for these artworks after having taken part in the symposium.
