The original idea 'Being on a Billboard' will not be realised since no turning prism billboards could be made available. Instead, another idea titled: → "Brothers in Mind" is being carried out.

Being on a Billboard At a busy street crossing is a large electronic prism billboard which constantly shifts between the same three images: They show me sitting in an armchair crossing my legs from one side to the other. The sequence of still images in constant repetition renders a restless/relaxed body gesture as a kind of "performative waiting". The commercial platform is changed into a quasi-file self portrait, which (against all other poster strategies) communicates an unspecific and ambiguous message. With 'Being on a Billboard', I occupy a piece of public space and make myself comfortable there. In accordance with the rhythmic rotation of the advertising machine, I ritualise my bodily and artistic posture to the absolute principle of communication. There will be no additional text information. |
