The Island The square Bat-Yam-Platz, in Berlin's Gropiusstadt, is only slightly busy. On a small lawn-island, which has been erected on top of 2.5 metre steel rod stilts, Holger pokes the embers of a barbecue while Stefan stands in the smoke and Silke gazes dreamily out over the edge of the railing.
